The Missouri Association of Insurance Agents is the oldest and largest association of insurance agents in the State of Missouri. The association was established in 1899 in St. Louis. Approximately 560 independent agencies, operated by 4,000 agents, brokers and their employees, are members of MAIA. “Independent” insurance agents and brokers offer their clients the products of more than one insurance company.

Regular agency membership is available to all legal entities that have their business address within the state of Missouri and that are licensed by the Missouri Department of Insurance to act as insurance agencies or brokerages and that operate within the American Agency System.
Affiliate membership is available to retail agencies that do not have a location in Missouri and are members of their home state’s association.
The Partner Program is for insurance companies, wholesalers and vendors who support MAIA on an ongoing basis. These companies have pledged to support all of our major conferences and events. Without their assistance, fees for these events would be significantly higher and/or the quality of programming would be restricted.
