COVID – 19 Updates

We wanted to share the latest COVID-19 response update from CoxHealth’s President and CEO, Steve Edwards.

In today’s message, Steve shares the changes in CoxHealth’s preparation/response to the COVID-19 epidemic such as our enhanced visitor screenings/restrictions, our newly set up Emergency Department triage tent and the immediate build-out of a new, 51-bed COVID ICU/Ventilator ward-based unit at Cox South.

To show the work already in progress, below please find a few pictures of the men and women hard at work on our COVID-19 treatment area at Cox South.  We hope we never need this space, but want to ensure we’re prepared for our community if we do.

In his most recent update, Dr. Robin Trotman, Infectious Diseases, shares with us new information about personal protective equipment for healthcare workers and what he sees for the future after the COVID 19 pandemic

 And last….but certainly not least…

We would be remiss if we didn’t acknowledge and say a special, heart-felt thank you to all of the local businesses that have supported our employees as we fight this battle against COVID-19.  From the donations of critically needed supplies, to the deliveries of delicious food to our frontline workers…your generosity and sense of community is felt and appreciated by all of us.  Our hope is that we can repay you by our diligence in protecting our community and by the care we provide to your employees and their families, should they need us.
