MORx Bill Fails To Pass Out Of House Committee

Friday, May 25th, 2018

SB 563, a bill that would have removed the requirement of dual eligibility for recipients of MORx Prescription Drug Assistance payments was passed by the Missouri Senate, but failed to be brought to the floor of the Missouri House for final approval by the House Rules-Oversight Committee.

The failure of the legislature to pass this important bill means that individuals who need prescription medicine assistance must continue to demonstrate eligibility under both Medicare and Medicaid guidelines. This restriction affects nearly 60,000 Missouri seniors and reduces the availability of important prescription medications to individuals who may be in most need.

This bill sought to reverse the dual eligibility law passed by last year’s legislature.
